2026 Winter League

The 2026 Winter League will be a Vegas Shoot format league, and starts on February 12th! Here are the important details:

General

- Dates: Thursday nights February 12th through April 9th

-Deadline for registration is February 8th

- Cost of the league is $90 cash/check or $95 credit/debit card to be paid in full in cash on the first league night

- League shooting will begin promptly at 7PM 

- Compound, Recurve, and Barebow archers will all shoot against each other

- The league will be shot indoors at a distance of 20 yards

- Over $1500 in prize money is expected to be up for grabs!

Scoring

-We will be using Vegas Shoot Scoring

    o Max arrow size is 2712 (10.7 mm, .422” diameter). Three arrows will be shot per end.

    o All archers score the same way. The outer 10 ring scores 10 points for all archers. The X ring within the outer 10 ring also counts as 10 points, but is marked as an X.

    o Archer choice of 40cm triangle three spot, or a 40cm single spot target face.

    o Ties will be settled by number of Xs.

    o 2 formal practice ends will be provided at the start of each league night. ​-2 formal practice ends will be provided at the start of each league night.

-A Flight system will be used instead of handicaps:

    o Archers will shoot a score each week for the first 8 weeks of League to be grouped into one of three Flights

    o During the 9th week, archers will shoot with/against only their Flight

    o Final cumulative score from all weeks (including Week 9 results) determines ranking within Flights and payout

Makeups

-Makeups can be shot outside of regular league time if a league night is missed.

- Makeups are dependent on the honor system - any archers found to be abusing this privilege will be immediately disqualified with no refund.

- A majority (2/3rds) of league nights must be attended to be eligible for prizes. Scores for all 9 weeks of League are also required to be eligible for prizes.

- No makeups are allowed for Week 9.

- All makeup scores must be completed and submitted by the end of regular League shooting on the second to last week of league.

Bonus Payout Shootoffs

-On the last week of league, the shootoff will be an end-by-end sudden death round. 

- The first end will be scored with regular scoring followed by scoring where only the X ring scores 10 points. At any time, the League organizer(s) has the option to switch to inside-out scoring, where only the X-ring scores 10, scored inside out. 

- After each end, only those still tied with the highest score will continue in the shootoff. All archers’ placement will be determined by the order in which they drop out of the shoot off.

- The top archer will receive a Bonus Payout.
